Virtual Make-Up: Lipcolor

I have always had a hard time choicing what color to use for the lips.  Most of the time I have choosen basic pink or red, but when I created a palatte of colors from Cosmetic websites and saw the results I was amazed. The bump map was the key to creating great looking lips. Here is a before and after for Victoria:

(Face Camera at 100mm with Default lights)

Victoria 2 with basic texture lips
Victoria2 with Rose Nu color added.
(RGB=184/80/100)

By setting the texture map to None and making the Bump Map 100% we get the look of lipstick.  The Highlight Color is set to a color close to white to get a glossy look.

Let's see what changed:

The object color has been changed.
Lighter Highlight has been added.
The texture map has been set to None.
The Bump Map strength is now 100%.

Once you have the color you like, you can create a Pose file in the Pose Library under Poser and then convert to a MAT Pose File.

Getting Bump Map for Lips:

There is already a default Bump Map for Posette in the "Poser 4 Textures" folder.
Of course there are a few in the "Free Stuff" area of Renderosity and other sites.
Another source is to use photos converted to Black and White and positioned over the lips of Posette or Victoria Templates.

No matter what method used, you may need to sharpen or soften the texture to suit your tastes.
